위의 학회는 Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America 등 전세계 4개 지역의 소아소화기영양학회가 모여, 2000년 미국 보스턴에서 세계소아소화기영양학회(WCPGHAN)를 처음 으로 개최, 4년마다 4개 지역을 순회하며 개최될 예정입니다.
또한, 아세아 태평양 소아소화기영양학회(APPSPGHAN)의 Counsil member 의 자격으로 회원 서정기 교수가 제1회 세계소아소화기영양학회(WCPGHAN) 학술관련 학회집행에 참여한 바 있으며, 본 대한소아소화기영양학회 회원 다수가 26편의 논문을 발표함으로써 위의 학회와 적극적인 활동과 함께 중요한 관계를 맺고 있습니다.
2004년에는 제2회 학회를 프랑스 파리에서 개최할 예정이며, 2008년에는 Latin America (장소미정)에서, 2012년에는 Asia 지역에서 개최할 예정입니다.
